Libro and Habitat for Humanity: building better futures together

Habitat for Humanity brings communities together to help families build strength, stability, and independence through affordable homeownership. Local Habitats across Canada work towards achieving their global vision: a world where everyone has a decent place to live.

Libro has been a supporter of Habitat for Humanity Since 2016.
Libro is determined to play a role in increasing the availability of affordable and attainable housing. That’s why we have been a longtime supporter of Habitat for Humanity across its different chapters in southwestern Ontario including Heartland Ontario, Windsor-Essex, Waterloo Region, Sarnia Lambton and Huron County.
In addition to nearly $300,000 through grants and sponsorship since 2016, Libro staff facilitate financial literacy programs, volunteer for build days, and have been proud to participating in life-changing key ceremony events. Libro has also worked with two Habitat chapters to provide direct financing and mortgage agreements with the individual homeowners; freeing capacity within Habitat to stretch their dollars further.
We understand that access to adequate, safe, and affordable housing provides the foundation for better health; for better success in education; for improved mental health. Targeted outreach, training and education are powerful tools that directly tie to these outcomes and provide opportunities for at-risk populations in an underserved community to be part of their own success. And we embrace this approach that Habitat for Humanity employs to develop housing in our service area.
