Libro Credit Union receives two National Credit Union Awards
SOUTHWESTERN, ONTARIO – Libro Credit Union is honoured to receive two National Credit Union Awards: the Best of Marketing Award and the Community Economic Development Award.
The Canadian Credit Union Association (CCUA) recognized Libro Credit Union as a leader driving effective programs that emphasize local economic initiatives across southwestern Ontario, and for the re-launched website that provides Owners (what Libro calls members) with an impactful experience, and resources and tools to help them along their prosperity journey.
Best of Marketing Award
Libro Credit Union received awards in two marketing categories: Content Marketing for our #prosperity150 campaign and Outstanding Creative for our website, resulting in Libro landing the Best of Marketing Award.
The new Libro.ca website is inviting, responsive and fully compatible with desktop computers, tablets and mobile phones.
“We often feature real Owners on our website and in our marketing campaigns, which offers authenticity and makes it real,” said Tina Van Loon, Marketing Manager at Libro Credit Union.
Libro worked closely with its digital partner, Arcane, on the new design and enhanced functionality. The site is designed to reflect the prosperity journey people are on and how we coach them through it. Since the launch of our new website, we have seen high engagement with new features and tools, resulting in increased mobile traffic and more returning visitors.
The revitalized website also creates a space to highlight the ways Libro Credit Union contributes to growing prosperity in southwestern Ontario.
Community Economic Development Award
Libro is being recognized for its approach in bringing together community partners that are growing the economy in southwestern Ontario, referred to as the Libro Cluster.
These key partnerships have similar aims and are helping create jobs, transition people off social assistance, support self-employment and entrepreneurship, and build money smarts.
The programs include: Libro Professorship in Regional Economic Development at the University of Guelph, WEtech Alliance in Windsor, Libro Social Innovators Program in partnership with the University of Windsor, St. Paul’s University College Green House program at the University of Waterloo, the Western University Accelerator, Goodwill Impact Loan, Verge Social Enterprise Loan Fund, and Libro Social Enterprise Incubator at Innovation Works in London.
Liz Arkinstall, Corporate Social Responsibility Manager at Libro Credit Union said, “the Libro Cluster is a plan that looks beyond traditional granting. It allows Libro to convene partners working toward similar aims. The cluster programs have proven that we can do far more as a collective than we could do alone.”
We are proud to have been recognized for the social and economic benefits these cluster programs are creating, and for the tremendous work our staff has done in improving our Owners’ experience and engagement online through our website and marketing campaigns. We are excited that Libro Credit Union is among the award recipients of credit unions that exemplify the true nature of the co-operative spirit.
Awards were received in Toronto, Ontario during the 2018 National Conference for Canada’s Credit Unions on May 1, 2018.
