Are We Community?
Libro’s business model is based on the social aim of building prosperity in southwestern Ontario. This goes beyond how we invest in our communities and encompasses everything we do to improve long-term Owner, staff and community well-being. We call that our Prosperity Purpose.
In 2015 we conducted a CSR/Social Purpose Gap Assessment to learn more about where we are today and to identify gaps and opportunities to consider pursuing. The results of the assessment are helping shape Libro’s strategic roadmap. We’re also sharing this Social Purpose Assessment Tool with other credit unions and businesses to help them in their journey to create shared value.
One of the initial steps in our Prosperity Purpose journey has been becoming a Living Wage employer. Living Wage is one strategy in reducing poverty and increasing positive outcomes in our communities. Being a Living Wage employer fosters social inclusion and supports the quality of life of our staff. Learn more about Living Wage at Libro Credit Union
Sponsorships & Donations
Decisions on sponsorship and donation are made at the local level - to ensure we are meeting the unique needs of each community we are part of. If your event, activity or program aligns well with our program, we'd like to hear from you. Applications are accepted year-round.
The Prosperity Project
Initially, The Prosperity Project is a simple question and the conversation that follows it. What does prosperity mean? The answer depends on your vision of what the future holds. But ask that question of the two million people, hundreds of communities and thousands of businesses in southwestern Ontario and the answer could grow into something much more.
