SOUTHWESTERN ONTARIO – Libro Credit Union is providing $140,000 in financial contributions over the next three years to four Habitat chapters across southwestern Ontario.
Libro Credit Union and Habitat for Humanity have a shared vision of providing access to adequate, safe, and affordable housing for all. With the challenges and barriers Ontarians are facing with affordable housing, Habitat for Humanity Affiliates continue to embark on build projects across our service area.
Libro knows that investing in communities isn’t just about dollars and cents. That’s why our commitment to strengthening communities is built into the business we do every day.
In addition to providing $140,000 in financial contributions going towards affordable housing projects and financial literacy efforts, Libro has also worked with two chapters to provide direct financing and mortgage agreements with the individual homeowner; freeing capacity within Habitat to stretch their dollars further.
- Habitat for Humanity Heartland Ontario and Brant-Norfolk Chapter: $60,000 will be invested in the Heartland on the Thames Build Project in the community of London, and the Upstart: Canada’s first Habitat for Humanity Passive House Project in the County of Brant, Brantford, Ontario.

- Habitat for Humanity Windsor-Essex: $45,000 will be invested in local projects including the 3 new homes in the Ford City Build.

- Habitat for Humanity Waterloo Region: $20,000 will be invested in the Kehl Street build project and Cambridge Shantz Hill project.

- Habitat for Humanity Sarnia Lambton: $15,000 will be invested in a housing project in Forest, Ontario.
